Your pet's reference photos
I cannot stress how important it is to provide good quality photos.
To enable me to capture your pet at their best, I reference your own photo(s). This is because you know your pet the best and will be able to recognise their individual characteristics and quirky traits in a picture. It also gives you a little control over how your portrait will turn out.
It's important to use a high quality photo that will really help me see small details such as individual hairs, to enable me to complete the best quality portrait possible.

It's best to take a picture of your pet in natural light, taken at their eye level, and a nice close frame around them.

If unsure, I am happy to go through some photos with you to help you pick the best one, or sometimes a few, for referencing.

Here are some examples.

The best kinds of images:
Clear, daylight, good angles AKA looking straight at the camera,

cute expressions, cute pose, a photo that shows off your pet's true character

Best
But please, no photos like the below. I can only recreate what I can see and remember, I don't know your pet to be able to improvise.
The below are difficult to work from and don't produce good results. We want you to be happy with your portrait after all!

No thank you:
Awkward angles, dark, blurry, too far away from the camera, strange expressions

Too dark, eyes shut, not clear
